Reply from john, 01-05-2009, 14:36:

I will take this "baggage and embarrassment" for every coach at ASU. Either you have no idea how good he is or you just want to throw mud. Doesn't matter, he is ours and we're gonna keep.

John Brady

Reply from Arkstfan, 01-05-2009, 13:42:

» Serious allegations, though. Any documentation? Waters and his goons are
» surely looking into this? This is not the type of press that anybody
» in-conference needs. I thought Brady would be a boon to the conference. ASU
» fans, is that a fair assessment or has he not lived up to your expectations
» out there in Jonesboro?

Other than a couple posts, not found anything about it.

Season ticket sales are up. With only three players he recruited he's matched last year's win total with at least 16 games left. Currently has the second highest RPI in the league according to RealTimeRPI. As of now hasn't beaten anybody rated better than 140 but hasn't lost to anyone rated worse than 144.

I don't think anyone expected a miracle (and haven't gotten one) but he's winning the games he should and losing the games he should and that is a big improvement.

» Conferences and conference affiliation are not static, people! Sorry for
» being opinionated, I'm just pissed my Colts lost, that's probably it :-(

Well, I guess I answer this.

I am a UALR season ticket holder and have been for about 6 years. In that time SBC football has improved greatly. The SBC has yet to leverage that with basketball to get the league on TV by moving from ESPN to someone like CSTV etc....

Kicking out the non-football schools at this point does not help the football schools. What do the non-football schools ad to the conference?

UNO adds a lot of history and will win again in the conference. They are sitting on a goldmine of talent in the N.O. area.

Denver has a new coach that is installing a system that will win there too.

UALR adds a great AD and vastly upgraded facilities that put us in position to win in the conference. In basketball we have added several signature wins over the last 5 years: Minn, SIU, and Creighton (this year) to name a few. The road to winning the Western side of the SBC men's basketball runs throw Little Rock this year and the past 5 years (Steve has won it 3 out of the last 5 years).

The schools in the conference need to stick together. No team is bigger than the conference at this point. We all need each other and the SBC needs to work on getting the conference on TV in some form. The money is still in Basketball and ever team in the conference needs to improve their OOC schedule to the point that we have a chance for two teams in the NCAA every year with one team winning a game or two.

Final: MT 82 @ South Alabama 67

Reply from algopher, 01-05-2009, 11:19:

Your team came ready to play, that's for sure. We really looked horrible. I'd like to blame it on the Miami trip in that the team didn't get back until late Friday and no preparation. Those Thursday/Saturday games are rough on all teams. If they can't go back to Wed/Sat, maybe they should consider Sat/Tue games. Not sour grapes as we have other problems I think. No production except from Tilford.
